Copyright:
Definition:
- Copyright-"an automatic right that protects a piece of written or recorded work from being copied or used by anyone else without the copyright owner's permission."
Also people do not realise that on the internet if you go onto google images for example and download and image that is the work of others then you would be doing something that is not legal and therfore you would be going against copyright laws.
"Copyright, designs and Patents Act 1988"
- If you capture a photograph or if you create a graphic using a software package e.g. Photoshop or Picmonkey then the image is yours and by law you do not have to apply for copyright.
- There can however be different circumstances, for example if you had to create a graphic or take a picture as part of your employment then the graphic or image is then the copyright is then owned by the third party, in this case being the employer.
- If you are the owner of a copyright image then you will be able to grant permission or liscense to anybody that would like to use your image.
- There are several rules to copyright, one of them are that copyright lasts until the owner of the copyright passes away also another seventy years must be waited for the copyright to be passed.
