Main Features Of Hardware Components

Mouse:  A mouse is very useful when used to create an edit digital graphics as it can be used to drag things such as text, images, layers and it is used to select different parts of the image that you want to specifically edit, this feature is particularly useful when it comes to using software such as photoshop as that particular software has a feature that lets you draw the outline of the image that you want to edit and then that section is cut away from the rest of the image and can then be edited seperately. A mouse can also be used to input different layers and to make each layer fit you can simply drag and drop the layers to the desired section where you would like it to show. The disadvantages of a mouse are as follows:

• Unsuitable for freehand drawing or hand writing.
• An external mouse requires space on a desk to use ans is not suitable for small spaces
• The cord on most mice can get held up and drag, making the mouse difficult to use

Graphics Tablet: A graphics tablet is a very useful tool for the creation and editing of graphics as a griphics tablet uses a pen which is used mainly for the drawing of graphics, the pen can also be used to write text on the image that you are editing and this feature of the graphics tablet is particularly useful as some people will prefer using the tablets pen to take control of the computer rather than using the mouse. Another feauture of the graphics tablet is the software that it is compatible with most types of software such as photoshop but you can also use the graphics tablet instead of a mouse to select layers and move them around to try and make each layer work. The disadvantages of the graphics tablet are as follows:

• slower then paper drawing
• Can be awkward to access menus and make selections
• Larger designs (A4 for example) are expensive
• Mouse feels cheap, tricky to get the hang of

 

In my opinion i fel that the mouse is better for the creation and editing of graphics and i think this because the mouse can be used to select menus and lists more easily and although it is not very suitable for freehand drawing you can draw shapes and move layers to create good effects and graphics.
