Picmonkey:

The software that i used was Pic monkey and it was very suitable for the editing of my images i think that it was suitable because it was not a very technical software package to use and it was very user friendly as iot included help buttons and other various tutorials that showed me how to perform certain tasks. The tools in the Picmonkey software include many different effects or filters such as the "orton" effect which puts a filter on the image and also the "Dark edges" effect which does what it says and puts shadows on the boundaries of the image. These filters and effects are not all that are included in the software as there are a wide variety of tools that can be used such as "Crop" which allows you to take certain parts of the image out and you can also use the "resize" tool which allows you to change how much of the picture you would like to see and it also creates additional room for other affects to be placed

Microsoft Word:

Although unconventional Microsoft word does offer a wide range of graphic editing tools, effects and filters. An example of what Microsoft Word can do would be, you are able to change the size of the canvas easily. It gives you the option to change height and width in cm, an example of what you can do in terms of effects and filters would be, you can filter your image in Word easily by using the recolour feature that can enable you to change the colour to what you want. It is also very easy to crop in word. If there was a part of the image you did not want, you are able to crop it out with the crop tool.
